Silver Ribbon for Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress, Francesca Romana Coluzzi, in Alberto Lattuada’s masterpiece, based on the novel La spartizione by Piero Chiara and starring the great Ugo Tognazzi. Emerenziano Paronzini, deputy chief of the district tax office, decides to marry one of the three Tettamanzi sisters. As time goes on, and without neglecting his wife, he becomes the lover of the other two. During one night, after the various amorous encounters, Emerenziano decides to visit the maid as well but is caught, in the act, by an illness. The film’s music was composed by the famous singer-songwriter Fred Bongusto; the main theme, entitled Tutta tutta, was composed by Bongusto to a text by director Lattuada, and was performed by the band I Giganti.
