Emotions, Passion, and Fun: Minerva Pictures’ News
1 December 2022“Emotions, passion, fun: here is the recipe with which we pack every day the small and big stories to propose to the public and to the cinemas. In this way, the CEO of Minerva Pictures, Gianluca Curti, opened the Convention branded Minerva this morning on the occasion of the 45th edition of the Professional Film Days of Cinema in Sorrento. “Our list – he continued – is deliberately a political list that deals with important issues even if in addition to films of great political impact we also present the most popular films like this beautiful and intelligent French comedy ‘Bugiardo seriale’. Minerva is one of the first companies to believe in the power of digital distribution and to invest in it. But it is also an unconventional company that has always gone against the current and now that everybody is going digital, Minerva has decided to veer and go back to the theater with great energy. I would be happy – he concluded – to review the exhibitors at the July event in Riccione and be able to say that instead of the current 50%, theaters have lost 49%, recovering thanks to us and our films at least 1%. We will do everything we can and also on the occasion of our 70th anniversary we will bring many initiatives related to the return to the theater”.
From Saint Omer, acclaimed debut film by Alice Diop, winner of two Lions at Venezia79 and Academy Award candidate for France, in theaters from 8 December in co-distribution with Medusa Film, to the touching story of Mathieu Vadepied, Father and Soldier, opening film of the latest edition of Un Certain Regard in Cannes, with the amazing Omar Sy. And again, the extraordinary work of Viesturs Kairiss, January, winner of the Rome Film Festival and of the Tribeca Film Festival as best international film and Academy Award candidate for Latvia, and Eismayer, by David Wagner, winner of the 37th International Critics’ Week at Venezia79.
And then pure adrenaline with Bandit, with Mel Gibson, fun and comedy with the French comedy Natural Born Liar by Oliver Baroux, action with High Heat by Zach Golden, with an incredible Olga Kurylenko and pure science fiction with Alienoid by Dong-hoon Choi, fresh from the success at the iconic Trieste Science+Fiction Festival 2022.
Epic and action with Boudica by Jesse V. Johnson, with Olga Kurylenko as the legendary Celtic queen who defeated the Romans.
Great emotions with the noir-tinted family story La caccia by Marco Bocci, presented out of competition at the 40 Torino Film Festival and in the theaters in March 2023, and with Terezin by Gabriele Guidi, in the hall in January on the occasion of the day of memory.
This and much more in the upcoming season of cinema releases by Minerva Pictures!
