Bound in Heaven – Special Preview at Casa del Cinema in Rome

Minerva Pictures and Rarovideo Channel present Bound in Heaven.
The film by Chinese director Xin Huo arrives for a special preview at La Casa del Cinema di Roma, which will feature it in its “FILM OF THE MONTH” series, dedicating four screenings to the title and offering audiences the opportunity to see this national premiere in an exclusive theatrical preview.

Telling the story of Yo, a woman trapped in domestic abuse, and Tai, a terminally ill man who falls in love with her after a chance encounter, the film offers a deeply moving yet boldly provocative exploration of themes rarely addressed in Chinese cinema: domestic violence and the struggles faced by terminal patients within the Chinese healthcare system. With confident direction and a sophisticated, layered narrative, Huo brings to the screen a powerful story of love and resilience.
Bound in Heaven had its world premiere at the most recent Rome Film Fest, where it won the Best Film Award and Best Debut Feature Award (ex aequo with Ciao Bambino).
Breaking away from the stylistic and narrative conventions of the local art cinema typically known to Western audiences, the film marks the emergence of a new and brilliant voice in the Chinese cinematic landscape.
