After spending more than 30 years of his life working in Switzerland, 75-year-old Giuseppe De Mitrio has long since returned to Porto Badisco, Puglia, where his wife Antonietta and children Roberto and Lucia have always remained. The latter’s daughter, Carla, has gone blind due to an illness and is awaiting a cornea transplant. One day, out of the blue, Giuseppe is stricken with a heart attack. After the dramatic experience, he decides to put his life in order starting with Carla’s delicate operation.
