Cinisi, a small sicilian town. During the Seventies, the local mafia dominates and controls the citizens’ daily life, as well as the drug trafficking and the procurement for Punta Raisi airport.
The young Peppino Impastato enters the vortex of the protest, bending it to local needs. He opens a small radio from which he attacks the powerful locals, including Tano Badalamenti, using the weapon of irony and provocation. An unmissable film of civic commitment. Award-winning in Venice, the Silver Ribbon and the David di Donatello.
An accurate restoration strongly supported by Minerva Pictures, started with the 4K scan of the original 35mm negative scene and the DA88 of the Dolby SRD mix. The restoration of the film’s colour was carried out according to the instructions of cinematographer Roberto Forza and director Marco Tullio Giordana. The works were carried out in 2020 at the digital laboratory of the Istituto Luce-Cinecittà.
