On the notes of Ennio Morricone, a young Dario Argento screenwriter reworks Patroni Griffi’s play of the same name. Two middle-class couples gather around a table. While Nina and Max are having a morbid extramarital affair, Giovanna is in love with Michele. The evenings are repeated in boredom, until Max, seeking more exciting transgressions, proposes a diversion to Nina.
