An FBI agent mysteriously disappears while investigating the death of a teenager, Teresa Banks, in the vicinity of the town of Twin Peaks. The murder appears to be connected to that of Laura Palmer, another local girl involved in a series of sordid affairs involving sex and drugs. The brilliant investigator Dale Cooper tries to track down the killer through a series of clues that appear to him in his dreams.
